MOBILITY MANAGER

Aging and Disability Services

The Mobility Manager is responsible for coordinating and enhancing transportation services for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations. This position plays a key role in addressing gaps in public awareness, education, and accessibility of transportation options, while ensuring that transportation services meet the needs of the community.

The Mobility Manager will work to reduce transportation barriers, develop education resources, and coordinate with local agencies to create a more inclusive and effective transportation system for Kenosha County residents. In addition, the Mobility Manager will monitor, report, and prepare funding applications for the Division of Aging and Disability Services’ transportation-related initiatives, including Wisconsin statute section 85.21 elderly and disabled transportation program, Mobility Management, paratransit service, and rural public transit initiatives. The position is respectively supervised by the Manager of Aging and Disability Services. This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on continued grant funding.

2024 Hiring Range:  $29.01 - $32.97 per hour

Position Summary and Job Duties

  • Research, identify, and apply for local, state, and federal grants or other funding opportunities to expand and improve transportation services
  • Analyze local trends, data, and service gaps as it relates to public and specialized transportation in Kenosha County to enhance coordination and reduce service duplication
  • Facilitate collaboration among public and private transit providers, community organizations, and businesses
  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of public and specialized transportation services and provide oversight for third-party contractual procurements (RFPs)
  • Provide support to individuals navigating transportation options, addressing their concerns, questions, and requests
  • Provide education, marketing, and outreach to the community to raise awareness of available transportation options
  • Intervention and troubleshooting at administrative and public relations levels for the transit projects as needed
  • Prepare program and fiscal reports for transit projects
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, public administration, transportation, or a related field
  • Three years of professional work experience in mobility management or transportation, or experience working with seniors and individuals with disabilities

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in social work, public administration, transportation, or a related field
  • Or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Other Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Access to a personal vehicle for use in the performance of the job
  • Certification as a Mobility Manager, or the ability to obtain
