ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL / CLUBHOUSE MANAGER

PUBLIC WORKS, GOLF DIVISION

The Kenosha County Public Works Department is seeking a supervisory, full time Assistant Golf Professional / Clubhouse Manager to help with the management of two geographically separate facilities with a combined total of 63 golf holes.  Each facility has field maintenance operations and golf/clubhouse operations (customer service, food & beverage, course scheduling, training/education, merchandising/equipment sales and event solicitation, planning and management).

Under general direction of both the Golf Professional and the Clubhouse Manager, the employee in this position has the potential to work at both Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs Golf Courses. This position assists in the management of golf operations as well as providing excellent customer service to all patrons.

2024 Hiring Range:  $46,976 - $55,923 annually

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage clubhouses and staff at either course in the absence of the Head Golf Professional or Clubhouse Manager
  • Provide efficient and friendly customer service to all guests
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional with hiring, training, scheduling, managing, and supervising the golf course staff including holding staff meetings
  • Promote and aid in creating a positive work environment
  • Know all aspects of the POS system and complete monthly inventory checks
  • Know County golf policies and communicate same to staff
  • Aid in the opening and closing of the golf shop
  • Order, stock, price, display, and sell merchandise
  • Promote and aid in conducting club fittings, lessons, and clinics
  • Assist in managing the golf cart fleet and aiding the outside service when needed
  • Fill in, where needed, for any operational duties including, but not limited to, starting or marshaling, registering golfers, food and beverage concessions, outside services, or pro shop clerk
  • Network with local businesses and institutions and promote County golf
  • Be a liaison with all outing contacts to make sure outings and group events are well run and successful
  • Help manage league activities, including scheduling, negotiation of contracts, bill payments, and invoicing
  • Act as liaison between courses and operations in the Golf Division
  • Work a flexible schedule as golf operations timing varies from day to day and season to season
  • Aid in winter operations of the golf simulators
  • Aid in developing continuous process improvement in all golf operations
  • Assist in promoting Kenosha County golf courses as regional golf destinations
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in the golf industry
  • Two years of supervisory work experience preferred
  • PGA Apprentice preferred

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
