Operates all radiographic and ancillary equipment associated with the performance or routine and minor special radiographic procedures, including bedside and surgical examination; responsible for radiation safety: has the ability to recognize and report equipment malfunctions.

Utilizes proper radiographic and positioning techniques in order to maximize radiographic quality and to minimize repeat images. Must be able to move patients on stretchers, in wheelchairs and on radiographic tables. Must appropriately label radiographs, record pertinent clinical information and identify trauma sites.

Assists radiologist and other physicians with fluoroscopic and other “special” procedures; exam room is set up according to department/ physician protocols. Sterile technique is required.

Must assists with departmental coverage at one or more satellite facilities; weekend; holiday and on-call coverage is required.

Accessing, entering and retrieving information form MIS is required.

Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.

Administers medications in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with policy and procedure. #cb
