Operates all radiographic and ancillary equipment associated with the performance of routine and special mammography procedures, including pre-surgical lesion localization; is responsible for radiation safety; and has the ability to recognize and report equipment malfunctions.

Utilizes proper radiographic and positioning techniques to maximize radiographic quality and minimize repeat films. Must be able to move patients on stretchers and wheelchairs. Must appropriately label radiographs and record pertinent clinical data.

For special procedures, exam room is set up with all necessary equipment and supplies; consent/history forms are complete; patient is prepared emotionally as well as physically prior to performance of study and monitored throughout the procedure; sterile/aseptic techniques are followed.

Scheduling routine and special procedures, providing preparation instructions and answering questions, accessing, entering and retrieving information form MIS is imperative.

Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.

Administers medications in a timely manner, safely and in accordance with policy and procedure.
