MAJOR FUNCTIONS

Under supervision in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, the Government Contract Specialist actively manages government regulation compliance, including the overall contracting process from formation through closeout.

· Develop, manage and continually improve government regulation compliance, including but not limited to compliance with FAR and DFARS flow downs from government contracts

· Administer and manage all completed contracts, including the accurate maintenance of all documents in the database

· Recognize and anticipate contractual issues and recommend solutions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Assist in building and maintaining a centralized database of contracts and monitoring performance obligations under such contracts

· Assist in the review and continual improvement of terms and conditions for MTI, customers and suppliers

· Assist in development, review and continual improvement of MTI FAR and DFARS flow downs for MTI Suppliers

· Prepare and disseminate information to appropriate employees regarding government compliance status.

· Track changes in FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulations and provide guidance on potential impact of these changes.

· Government compliance policy and practice to internal business teams.

· Assist with investigations and audits of FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulations applicable to MTI contracts

· Active involvement in MTI’s cybersecurity compliance

· Assist in developing policies and procedures to ensure MTI remains compliant with and anticipates changes to, all applicable government regulations, including by not limited to FAR, DFARS, and CAS

· Other government compliance duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· 3 to 5 years of government contract experience in a high-productivity environment.

· Prior government contract management experience particularly in the manufacturing industry preferred.

· Experience at reading, updating and interpreting contract language.

· Excellent data management skills and proof-reading ability.
